        I believe it is.

One of my classmates in college got his mustang 5.0 taken because he was revving on a white civic.

-edit- yes the civic was a cop.

(i believe i told some people this story when i first joined as probie...)

-EDIT AGAIN- They don't take away the cars in cali, they still only crush them or auction them off, BUT the cops have made their own 'built by guideline' cars to look like streetracers.

So you get the car back after a set amount of days?

edit: nvm, read the article again and it seems like it's forever kept by the police? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that would suck.

well it's better than when they were just flat-out crushed.

but i believe they still do. they need to meet a certain standard in 1/4mi. and 0-100 times in order to be considered.

a few seconds pwning the kid who could get beaten by a bicycle =/= worth risk of getting car taken.
