  • Team Hybrid - Forsage Tuning Auto "Cover" (Russia) February 2008

    Hybridz:

Congratulations to Billy Johnson's Subaru WRX making a 7 page COVER of the Russian magazine Forsage Tuning Auto, February 2008, Issue 42, pgs 032-038. This is the 2nd cover of the year for us and believe me, there will be more covers coming. Who would of thought a team that started out in Oxnard, California thirteen years ago would be seen worldwide. Team Hybrid has now been published and documented in Russia. Thanks again to our member, Eric Lam and the great Russian photographer, Paul Aerodeck. It is the Year of the Hybridz.

    Hybridzzz and Hunnyzzz are everwhere.

    Hybrid luv,

    James Lin

In an article about SEMA, he told me about the different approaches to tunning automobiles in the USA. Some are limited to large chrome whells and and a couple interior mods, while others are updated to the present trends of tuning. Exceedd by only the Japanese themselves, this one is falling ourside the framework. We will discuss this machine today.

Billy Johnson: (what are rare American name!! ) IT started with a very unusual method. He works in a garage with high end automobiles, and he admired the variety, but it was difficult to choose a dream car for himself that would be somthing specail and uncommon. After long searches Billy decided on a Subaru Impreza. It was somewhat build by a member of Team Hybrid, but nevertheless, work had to be done in order for this to become his dream machine. The track is a common place for him to go and for this reason large power was not required but what is necesary is balacne and ideal controlability. The standard engine is 2.0 227hp and 300TQ. This was not enough, therefore it was necessary to build upon it. Under the hood was first installed a custom intake and FMIC brom Greddy. With this and new ingnition system and fuel upgrades and CPU tuning this was already putting out 260-270HP. (At this point they just dive into specs and what not.) like concentrating on the dynamics of the car, lots or work on the dyno, koyo radiator, samco hoses, lightend flywheel, etc etc. They also get into some of the bodykit and interior, mods.

That is the tittle page and 1st section.... more later.
