Got a question for you Calvin: do you recommend the tripod and head you're using? Pros and cons if any?

I have a 40D as well, but w/o all your nice lenses.

Sorry I haven't checked in in a while.

Chapman - yes, the 055xprob + 488rc2 is a great combo. it's a bit on the heavy side, but it's definitely sturdy. I learned my lesson the hard way when I used a cheap tripod from Best Buy and my 350D fell to the ground and broke my lens. The money spent on the 055xprob and 488rc2 is an investment that will last you years (over a decade if you take care of it). great all around combo for general use. #1 recommended combo on photography-on-the.net. if you want something lighter, than the 190xprob (or something like that, 190-something) is a great alternative.

Ah, I ended up ordering your model tripod with this head: http://www.adorama.com/BG808RC4.html...0%20&item_no=1

I think my combo will be heavier than yours

You can always have more than one.

I plan on buying a pistol grip soon!
