I've noticed on numerous occassions after a fairly long drive or even during a short distance cruise there is a subconscious tendency to follow the line of whomever is in front of you (whether or not it is your intention). At some point while driving your mind might shut down most of your usual habits or fade out details you might normally notice. Unless of course you are driving in an alert mode attempting or expecting to notice something.
I first started thinking about it after the multiple times of driving over speed bumps immediately in the exact location as the car in front of me. After realizing what just happened I can vaguely recall a lesser form of "tunnel" vision, really not paying attention to anything at all occurring farther than the vehicle in front (occurs less with motorcycles since visual is greater anyway because of their small size).
Next thought that came to mind was the subtle relation to tailgating...of course nobody in this industry would even think or consider tailgating
Probably majority of people reading this is thinking who cares or it doesn't matter, truth is nobody probably cares and it doesn't change anything haha. Just another random thought that came to mind.
