Oh thats right, people race all the time with auto-transmissions...like keiichi tsuchiya...and orido...and mario andretti..and jimmy johnson...they all race with automatic transmissions. I shoulda remembered
ofcourse only if you factor in clutchless-sequential as automatic, then yes, it has almost completely replace manual in the racing scene; from production cars to race cars, but then ofcourse on the production cars they can only be seen on the higher-end vehicles because it's not cheap.
i haven't seen a pricy race vehicle with a true manual and not sequential in a long long time; btw, both tsuchiya & orido have ikeya formula sequentials in their cars while orido's jgtc is250 is sequential as well with 2jzgte.
autotragic, automagic; don't have to deny it, you guys are hating.
i think the real issue here is the fact of "man over machine v.s. machine over man".

and my post that you initially replied to clearly stated that triptronic isn't manual. Not because auto's suck. Right? So why get all technical about how I haven't been able to drive expensive cars yet =( *sniff
Plus, I've been saying automagic for as long as I can remember...this isn't the first time its been brought up.
Geez David I wasn't even talking about you and you had to come in with your high-end babble about how only if we consider clutchless sequential gear box as an 'automatic' blah blah blah...which is exactly what a triptronic is lol. Yes sequential shifting improves lap time by far, but thats for professional racing where millions and billions of dollars is at stake. ALL of these racers started out with standard transmissions and all of their play cars have standard transmissions. (for countless reasons)
"and whats machine over man?" like the car is better than the driver?????? What did chew and I say about seat time? lol
