I want to first say congrats on the winning members at Motion Long Beach this past weekend. I must say you all have a structured club and can’t wait to be a part of it.
My name is Jesse Ramirez (34), live near South Pasadena. Married for 3 years to a USC Grad!!! (Go Trojans).
Cars have always been my interests since the very beginning of my life. My parents always had some interesting cars growing up, from classic Ford Crown Victories (1956) to my mom grocery car, a 1970 Hemi Cuda!
I myself had my share of rides growing up. My first car was my mother’s hand-me down 1987 IROC, which I drove in high school to my vintage 1941 air ride Chevy. My love for import rides did not come in to play until 2000 when I was forced to sell my high school ride due to gas prices climbing.
My first import ride was a DA9 which at the time, I only saw it as a commuter car that got great MPG. That soon quickly changed when I learned more about the car and found out what SOLOII runs where all about. My DA9 got a J-spec engine swap, suspension upgrade for SOLO runs and every JDM part you can come across.
That car was great, but in time I had to upgrade.
I found my beloved SW20 – MR2 on MySpace’s classifieds back in 2005.
The car came with lots of history which would take too much to post, but is a good story to talk over a camp fire.
The decision on this purchase was the help of my wife, which see also loved the minute the previous owner pulled up at a local parking lot.
I knew my wife loved it and I myself loved it only because I did my homework before meeting up the previous owner.
I hope I meet every ones expectations and can contribute my help to this club.
Thanks for talking with me James!
